Racing Bulls in 2026 equals McLaren in 2019? – RaceFans
Newcomer Arvid Lindblad has impressed alongside the more experienced Liam Lawson at Racing Bulls this season. For Deerhunter, the situation is similar to how reigning champion Lando Norris arrived at McLaren seven years ago:
This is pretty much a repeat of McLaren’s 2019 season.
Sainz/Lawson is the more experienced one consistently grabbing the lion’s share of the points, but it’s also pretty clear that Norris/Lindblad has more potential to be unlocked once they’ve ironed out those imperfections.
I do believe this is a bit of an existential decision for Racing Bulls. If they’re content on simply being the ‘feeder’ team for the senior Red Bulls operation, then getting Tsolov into that seat as quickly as possible is the way to go.
But if they actually want to compete for for the ‘Formula 1.5’ trophy, Lawson is just too consistently good to drop. He’s driving at least as good as the much more experienced Gasly in the midfield at the moment.
